This puppy had a very straight coat as a puppy....just had some wispy hairs.....As an adult, this is what his owner has to say about his coat at 2yrs of age.."He does shed lightly if you don't keep up on his brushing. If you brush him at least once a week he won't shed (basically it will pull all the loose hair out so he doesn't shed it in the house) but if I don't keep up on his brushing then yes,I would say lightly, nothing you would feel in your hands by petting him but that you would see on a car seat or something. Vince's coat is very straight except for the very top of his head, under his chin/neck area and his toes, but everything else is straight with maybe a little wave.  His coat is very fluffy and the hair is fine, which is also why he does have some light shedding but nothing that comes off in your hands."
This female was born with very straight hair.....even at 6 weeks, her hair had very little wave to it.  As you can see at 9 months (bottom left and center), she had a nice wavy coat. This is what her owner has to say about her at the age of 1..."..she is the best dog.  She does not shed at all. When we brush her we might get a few pieces of hair and that is all.  Compared to a Golden Retriever I would say no comparison. I am not a slave to the vacuum anymore. We did shave her, as you know, due to the wet snow causing us some grief, but her coat is coming in great.
...her coat is coming in that pretty red like a darker Golden. I would say (not that I'm partial) Luci has the textbook coat of a Goldendoodle."
This pup was one with straighter hair..... at the age of 2, this is what his owner has to say..."I would say Max is a light shedder compared to a Golden Retriever.  Right now he is shedding more than usual because I think he is losing his winter coat.  When he is cut to a couple inches I don't notice any shedding. His hair doesn't start to tangle until it gets long and he is in and out of the water in the summer or out playing in the snow in the winter. I think he is more attractive when he is longer but I rather he have fun!"
This is Sadie.  She is an F1 Goldendoodle.  Sadie had a lot of curl as a pup and has grown up to have a nice curly coat. Sadie only had a small amount of shedding when she was losing her "puppy coat" and is basically a non-shedder...like the Poodles.  On the bottom left she has a nice long coat and bottom right is sporting a shorter cut....which, by the way, requires much less grooming.
We cannot "guarantee" coat types on our puppies or as to whether or not they will shed.  Most of the puppies will shed their "puppy coats" and will shed less once their "adult coat" comes in.  We can, however, give you our best guess as to which coat type the puppy will have as an adult:)  Most of our Goldendoodles will be either basically non-shedding or shed lightly once they have their adult coats in.
